Since March 2022, IPF "Roza Otunbaeva Initiative" implements the project "Thrive by Five" to develop and implement a mobile application for parents. By now the first test version of the application in the Kyrgyz language has been prepared.

Melissa Theo and Nathaniel Foo from the Minderoo Foundation (Australia) visited Kyrgyzstan to conduct testing. They visited kindergartens (Kyrgyztelecom kindergarten in Bishkek, Bakyt kindergarten in Belovodskoe village of Moscow district and Kindergarten #186 in Ak-Ordo residential area) and met with parents to learn their feedback on the convenience and usefulness of the application for parents. All kindergartens conducted interviews with parents to get their opinion on the content of the app in offline and online formats with the developers from the University of Sydney.

The content of the "Thrive by Five" parenting app was developed by the Brain and Mind Center at the University of Sydney, Australia, and contains the latest research on the development of a child's brain from birth to age five. It is this period that scientists believe is key to a child's development, and, it is the period that largely determines a child's future.

The app has a format of short tips on areas that are very important for child development: "Speech Development", "Healthy Home", "Play", "Community", "Emotional connection with your child". The content of the application "Thrive by Five"/"Beshke chayin ulgur" will be available to parents in Kyrgyz and Russian languages in August this year.

Let us remind that Kyrgyzstan and the Roza Otunbaeva Initiative Foundation was selected among 30 countries where the project on development and launch of mobile application "Thrive by Five" will be implemented.
