COVID 19 Information Week sums up its results

The COVID 19 Information Week results have been collected, and the materials are currently being evaluated.

The project "COVID-19 Preventative Measures and Improvement of General Level of Hygiene and Sanitary Culture Among Schoolchildren in Kyrgyzstan" is implemented by the International Public Foundation "Roza Otunbaeva Initiative" with support of UNESCO Participation Program (Paris) in partnership with the National Commission of the Kyrgyz Republic for UNESCO and the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic.


In order to promote sustainable skills in the field of personal hygiene and sanitation among schoolchildren, the International Public Foundation "Roza Otunbayeva Initiative" announced a competition in the following categories:

1.      The Best Class Lesson scenario among teachers

2.      The Best Script of the Information Week among pilot schools 3.

3.      The Best Video clip among schoolchildren

More than 30 contest materials were received (7 school scripts, 15 class lessons, and 19 video clips from schoolchildren). The jury, which consisted of representatives of the National Commission of the Kyrgyz Republic for UNESCO, the National Center for Health Promotion of the Kyrgyz Republic, and the "Roza Otunbaeva Initiative" IPF, chose the best materials among the entries.


The competition was held as part of the Information Week among the pilot schools of the project. The main goal of the Information Week was to increase the general level of culture in the area of hygiene among schoolchildren in Kyrgyzstan. The Information Week was announced and conducted in pilot schools from September 16 to 24, 2021. In connection with the request of the majority of pilot schools and postponing the beginning of the school year to September 15, the Information Week was prolonged until October 1 of the current year. During the week eight pilot schools in Bishkek and Osh held open lessons, parents' meetings and other activities, to inform and instill useful skills and habits in the field of personal hygiene and sanitation among schoolchildren.


The project is coming to an end, and soon the e-learning platform will be officially launched. The site has been launched in test mode and is currently being updated with materials.


All materials, methods and competitive works will be published on an E-Learning platform with translation into Kyrgyz language for more teachers to have access to project developments.
