In Bishkek hosted an open master class on «Beans and Pumpkin»
December 21, 2014, 06:00December 18, 2014 - The "Initiative of Roza Otunbayeva" the first open “Beans and Pumpkin” master class on cooking dishes with beans and pumpkins. The master class was supported by the UN World Food Programme in the Kyrgyz Republic in partnership with the Turkish Embassy in Kyrgyzstan, Kyrgyz-Turkish University "Manas" and resto-club "Skullcap". The event was attended by former President of KR, R.I.Otunbaeva, Turkish Ambassador to the Kyrgyz Republic, Mr. Metin Kilic, British Ambassador in Kyrgyzstan Ms. Margaret Farnworth, Japanese Ambassador to the Kyrgyz Republic, Mr. Takayuki Koike, Vice-Speaker of Parliament of the KR Mamyrova BA and other members of Parliament of the KR, the Country Director of WFP Ram Saravanamuttu and other officials, and representatives of the media (television, radio, newspapers and magazines) The purpose of this event was to promote ideas of healthy nutrition and physical and intellectual development of children through the demonstration of the experience of cooking healthy and affordable foods (beans and pumpkin) from the experience of Turkish cuisine. Former Kyrgyz President Roza Otunbayeva said in his speech the useful properties of pumpkin and beans in food and shared with the guests of the pumpkin mask recipe in order to cosmetology. Chefs of the Turkish Embassy in Kyrgyzstan and resto-club "Skullcap" Mr. Erol and Andrei presented a master class on 7 categories of dishes from pumpkin and beans. In addition, participants of the event were able to visit the exhibition of more than 25 ready-made dishes, the exhibition World Food Programme to optimize school meals, book fair books on cooking represented by the Raritet bookstore. All participants received a handout recipes from pumpkin and beans, as well as information about the usefulness of beans and pumpkins.
