"Roza Otunbaeva Initiative" under the title "Spring, Poet"
was held.

The evening was opened by Jenish Beksultanov,
Vice-Rector of the Kyrgyz National University named after Jusup Balasagyn.
"We would like to thank the Roza Otunbaeva Initiative Foundation for
supporting poets and organizing such an event at our university. On behalf of
our Rector, Tolobek Abdrakhmanov, we welcome you and wish our young talents to
dedicate their important and meaningful poems to the people, and may the world
of poetry grow".
Roza Kaiykova, Executive Director of the Foundation,
said that until 2016, Kyrgyz poets and poetry in general were neglected. Roza
Otunbaeva initiated the organization of "Poetry Evenings" aimed at
supporting the work of famous and young poets and developing cultural and
cognitive recreation of citizens and guests of the capital.
"Poetry Evenings" were held for the first
time in March 2016 at the National Philharmonic, named after Toktogul
Satylganov, in honor of the 80th anniversary of Mayramkan Abylkasymova. Since
then, this initiative has been held every month, and today's event was the
47th, with the participation of more than 127 poets. Taking this opportunity, I
would like to thank the administration of the National University, the public
and the New Wave Literary Club for their support in organizing this event. And
I wish the young poets a lot of success in sharpening their pens and winning
the title of People's Poet," Roza Kaiykova expressed her wish.
In the first part of the evening "Spring, Poet"
songs about childhood feelings, parents, first love, friendship were sung.
After that Uzak Urmat performed a melodious song "Zhurok satam"
written by Ulan Dоlоtov. Following the theme of this melodious song, the girls
joined in the singing battle, which brought applause from the audience.
The third part of the evening was accompanied by poems
of poets and melodious compositions. The event ended with Kaniet Sagynbekova's
performance of the melodious song "Kusalyk" written by Zhypara
Kutpidinova.
