Within the framework of UNICEF's Girls in Science Project, a training session on development plans for pilot schools took place on November 3, 2023, at Vakker Secondary School in Issyk-Ata District, Chui Region. This initiative stemmed from the results of the situation analysis conducted under the project.

The event's opening saw the presence of Roza Kaiykova, Project Coordinator, and Executive Director of the International Public Foundation "Roza Otunbaeva Initiative," along with Turmamatova Zhypara, Programme Coordinator of the UNICEF project. Also in attendance were Sagynbekov Nurbek, Deputy Head of Issyk-Ata district, and Saltanat Salbekova, a representative of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Jenish Urumov, the project expert, presented the results of the situation analysis during the event, elaborating on key aspects of the study. Subsequently, a training session aimed at developing development plans was organized for the participants. They gained insights into structure and planning, learning to consider science, technology, engineering, and maths (STEM), as well as gender sensitivity in their plans.

An important topic discussed at the event was the alignment of the strategic plan of the general education organization with the Social and Economic Planning (SEP) plans and the Education Development Strategy (EDS) in the Kyrgyz Republic.

The event proved successful and beneficial for participants, equipping them with the tools and knowledge needed to develop more effective and gender-sensitive development plans. This marks a significant step towards increasing the participation of girls and women in scientific and technical fields, while also strengthening children's rights in education.
