As part of the "Active Women's Civil Society Organizations of Kyrgyzstan for Peace" project, a five-day training for trainers on Design Thinking was conducted. The training took place June 21-25, 2023, in Batken, with the participation of women's civil society organizations and staff from nine pilot districts.

The objective is to enhance their capacity in Design Thinking and facilitate effective communication with the community. The training aims to strengthen the project's objectives, enhance understanding of climate change adaptation, promote social cohesion, and advance gender equality through the application of Design Thinking and Speed Dating methodologies. At the conclusion of the training, the best trainers will be selected to lead further initiatives using these new tools.

During the event, networking opportunities were created among participants to foster stronger commitment among trainers in establishing effective collaborations with communities, local governments, and other stakeholders. This will enable trainers to more successfully achieve the project's goals, improve climate change adaptation, contribute to conflict prevention, and promote gender equality. The training serves as an important platform for the skill and knowledge development of trainers from women's civil society organizations.

The training was organized by UN Women, the Roza Otunbaeva Initiative International Public Foundation, and FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations) with financial support from the UN Peacebuilding Fund.
