Every year, on August 31, we
celebrate the main national holiday of our country - Independence Day of the
Kyrgyz Republic.
On this day in 1991, an
extraordinary session of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan
adopted a resolution on the "Declaration on State Independence of the
Republic of Kyrgyzstan”. According to this historic document, Kyrgyzstan was
declared an independent, sovereign, democratic state and declared its
commitment to the universally recognized principles of international law,
friendship, and cooperation between peoples, and unwavering respect for
previously undertaken obligations.
The independence of modern
Kyrgyzstan is a symbol of national unity, and our common responsibility for the
future of our country. Unity in the big and small, in solving global problems
that confront us, and in solving everyday tasks.
May this holiday, every year,
give us more and more confidence in our future and add encouragement to every one of us!
