Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation signed between the Roza Otunbayeva Initiative IPF and the Association of Professionals of the Fuel and Energy Sector, "Women in the Energy Sector of Kyrgyzstan”

Today, March 31, 2022, a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation was signed between the Roza Otunbayeva Initiative International Public Foundation and the Association of Professionals of Fuel and Energy Sector, “Women in the Energy Sector of Kyrgyzstan”.

Attaching special importance to expanding opportunities and enhancing the role of women and girls in STEM, including in the energy sector, the Roza Otunbayeva Initiative IPF and the Association of Women in Kyrgyzstan's Energy sector, have officially documented the establishment and strengthening of partnerships and the development of effective and mutually beneficial cooperation.

Now we intend to cooperate in the system of expanding opportunities and enhancing the role of women and girls in STEM, including in the energy sector, to conduct joint activities to promote energy efficient, energy saving technologies, and to promote gender-oriented professions in the energy sector, engineering and ICT technologies.

The Memorandum was signed by Dogdurgiul Kendirbayeva, Executive Director of the ROI IPF, and Altynai Abdykerimova, President of the “Women in the Energy Sector of Kyrgyzstan” Association.

The signing ceremony was attended by Roza Kayikova, Deputy Director of the Roza Otunbayeva Initiative IPF, and Coordinator of the Girls in Science Project. The Association director was accompanied by members of the association: Tagjana Aidaraliyeva, press secretary of JSC "Electric Stations", and Elzada Sargashkayeva, head of the press service of JSC "National Electric Network of Kyrgyzstan". We would also like to note that Tagjana and Elzada are mentors of the "Girls in Science" project implemented by the ROI IPF.
