Young Talents Evening of Poetry

June 9th, 2016

The Evening of Poetry included the works of a group of creative young poets: Afina Bakirova, Erlan Djumagaziev, Altinbek Ismailov, Kiyal Tadjieva, Saira Batirkulova, and Zairbek Adjimatov. The evening started with a small poetic presentation from each of the participants. The night’s MC, poet Mirlan Samikodjo, introduced his colleagues to the assembled guests.

The great thing about poetry is that all emotions – tenderness and love, resentment and separation – can be transformed by poets into beautiful lines which penetrate the soul. The younger listeners found a reflection of their own emotions in the words of these poems, and the older listeners with a wry smile remembered their own experiences.

The evening ended with poems dedicated to the Motherland, motherhood, civic duties, and musings about one’s destiny.

These fiery lines of poetry drew an enthused response from the listeners in the hall, regardless of their age, gender, or profession. To live a meaningful life filled with love for your native land, to make meaningful choices – be it about a life partner, your future job – these are challenges posed by the poets in their poems.

“The person who loves poetry is always pure of heart and does make stupid decisions and actions,” said one of the poets who came to the Evening of Poetry.

The next Evening of Poetry will take place in September. Read poems my friends!
