World Book and Copyright Day is celebrated annually on April 23

The idea of ​​celebrating Book Day originated in Catalonia, where it is customary to present books to each other on this day, and for each book purchased, the buyer receives a rose as a gift.

The value of the book in the life of society and each person is difficult to overestimate. The book is a window into the world of culture, allowing you to tell or learn something new and it is a path that connects different times and different cultures. Encouraging people to enjoy the pleasure of reading a book and to respect the merits of the authors, the General Conference of UNESCO in 1995 decided to establish World Book and Copyright Day.

And we would like to remind you that the publishing activities of the “Roza Otunbayeva Initiative” Foundation/IPF have been recognized for the popularization of world and national literature among children and youth.

All of the IPF's publications are unique, including works translated into Kyrgyz for the first time, as well as colorful and interesting postcards and calendars with reproductions of works by famous Kyrgyz artists.
