The field of information and communications technology (ICT) continues to evolve rapidly, opening up new professional development opportunities for girls.

International Girls in ICT Day is a global initiative to raise awareness of the importance of digital skill acquisition for girls.

Inspiring female role models show that a career in technology can be as diverse and interesting and as glamorous as you want it to be.

This inspiring video was produced by the “Rosa Otunbayeva Initiative” (International Public Foundation/IPF), as part of UNICEF's “Girls in Science” project, specifically for International Girls in ICT Day

Reference: Girls in ICT Day is celebrated around the world every year. Since 2011, this memorable UN date is held at the initiative of the International Telecommunication Union on the fourth Thursday of April. This year the date falls on April 22.

On this day, various events are held aimed at empowering girls and young women, and encouraging them to choose an IT profession.

The purpose of the holiday is to draw public attention to the issues of employment and promotion of women and girls in the field of information and communication technology.
