Bishkek to Host a Roundtable on the Prospects for Implementing Open Educational Resources in Kyrgyzstan

The "Roza Otunbayeva Initiative" IPF, with the financial support from "Freedom of Information" program of the "Soros -Kyrgyzstan" is implementing the "Open Book" project.


The purpose of the project is to assist in the creation and development of strategies and policies for open educational resources (OER) in Kyrgyzstan based on existing government education policies.


Experts have analyzed the prospects of implementing OER in Kyrgyzstan. In connection with this, they will present their findings at a roundtable in Bishkek on April 29, 2014.


The purpose of the roundtable is also to be a discussion of the content of a concept statement of OER in Kyrgyzstan. The roundtable will establish a working group to develop a draft of the concept statement.
