A new project, "Preventative Measures for COVID-19 and Increasing the General Level of Sanitary and Hygienic Culture among Schoolchildren in Kyrgyzstan" has been launched

The first introductory meeting of the project coordinators, representatives of pilot schools and doctors, took place on May 7, 2021 within the project on prevention of COVID-19 in schools of Kyrgyzstan. The meeting was held at the “Bilimkana American” pilot school.

 

At their welcoming speech, Kenderbayeva D., executive director of the “Roza Otunbayeva's Initiative”International Public Foundation (IPF), and Imanalieva E., head of the Bishkek City Education Department, stressed the importance of the project in today’s realities.

 

Nurzat Jeembaeva, Project Coordinator of "Preventive Measures for COVID-19 and Increasing the General Level of Sanitary and Hygienic Culture among Schoolchildren in Kyrgyzstan" told representatives of the pilot schools about the launch of the project, as well as outlining the goals and objectives. During the presentation, Nurzat highlighted the role of pilot schools in testing materials for school students.

 

During the meeting, the presentation was given by Ermek Ismailov, a physician, where he shared useful information about the importance of disease prevention in schools, as well as maintaining a healthy lifestyle. As an illustrative example, Ermek conducted short exercises among the participants.

 

The final presentation on “SMM (Social Media Marketing) in Education” was made by Ayoka Abdyrakhmanova, head of Digital Marketing at Bilimkana school. Ayoka shared her experience in social networking for an educational institution, as well as useful marketing tools.

 

The meeting was attended by representatives of six pilot schools in Bishkek and participants from the city of Osh joined the event online.

 

The project "Preventive Measures for COVID-19 and Increasing the general level of sanitary and hygienic culture among schoolchildren in Kyrgyzstan" is implemented by the "Roza Otunbayeva Initiative" IPF, with support from UNESCO Headquarters (Paris) and in partnership with the National Commission of the Kyrgyz Republic for UNESCO and the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Awareness and promotion of measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 among schoolchildren and teachers in Kyrgyzstan.
