Former President Roza Otunbayeva participated in the Education Shared Societies Dialogue on building peace and democracy including political, social, economic and environmental dimensions

Former President Roza Otunbayeva on October 16-17, 2018 participated in the Education Shared Societies Dialogue on building peace and democracy including political, social, economic and environmental dimensions organized by the World Leadership Alliance – Club de Madrid. The focus of the dialogue was on the top global issues such as Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced People; Preventing Violent Extremism; and Digital Resilience. 


As a plenary speaker Roza Otunbayeva spoke on leadership in education. The forum went with the participation of about 40 democratic formers leaders of states and governments, members of the Madrid Club, 300 people in total. Forum participants were greeted by UN General Secretary Antonio Guterres (via video), Portuguese Foreign Minister Augusto Santos Silva, former EU president Jose Barroso. Club members were received by the 20th President of Portugal, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.
