IV Festival of Education - 2016: «Ecology and Health»

The Festival of Education is an annual two-day festival, and has been running in Bishkek since 2013. This will be the fourth year of the festival.

 

- April 22nd (Friday) in the I.K. Akhunbayev National Medical Academy of Kyrgyzstan (NMAK)

 

-April 23rd (Saturday) in the neighborhood by the “Kurmanzhan Datka” monument, in Oak Park, in the Ch. Aitmatov Russian Dramaturgical Theater, and in the National Center for Children and Youth “Ceitek”

 

As part of the Festival of Education, universities will be not only be opening their doors to tours for high-school students and exhibitions, but will also be conducting lectures for other teachers and offering face-to-face contact with students and professors in order to get to know the different departments. During the 2014 Festival of Education, the I. Razzakov Technical University opened its doors, and the I.K. Skryabin Agricultural University participated in 2015.

 

The Festival will take place over six or seven public spaces, where will be hosted a range of educational exhibitions and excursions, fairs, lectures, contests, quiz-bowls, master-classes, and concerts over the two days of the event. Each day you can find something that interests you, in groups like: “Education for All,” “Professional Forum,” “Bookfair,” “Bilembek’s Laboratory,” “Fairy-tale World,” “Sports Class,” “Dance Class,” and “Acting Class”

 

The IV Festival of Education with a special focus on "Ecology and Health," is part of the eco-project “Think Globally, Act Locally: Improvement of Environmental Responsibility among Children and Youth.” The goal of the eco-project is to enact improvements in civic responsibility and in the level of environmental awareness among not only the youth, but also among the adults of Bishkek, through the transition from bystander to active participant in environmental awareness events. The final goal is the creation of a healthy environment that positively impacts healthy lives and sustainable development.

 

Through-out April 22nd and 23rd, one can get acquainted with the wide spectrum of educational services (free and payment-based) present in Bishkek. Citizens can find interesting activities for themselves and their children while learning a lot of useful information, or just sit back and relax while watching the entertainment.

 

The current Festival is made possible by the International Public Fund “Roza Otunbayeva’s Initiative,” along with the support of the Bishkek Town Hall, the I.K. Akhunbayev National Medical Academy of Kyrgyzstan, general support of the Christensen Fund, as well as other social, international, and governmental organizations.
