Finalists of the «Women in STEM» contest on innovative project were announced
November 3, 2018, 06:00On November 1st, 2018, in the framework of “Empowering and Increasing the Role of Women in STEM” project which implemented with financial support of the Democratic Commission of the US Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic, the results of the Women in STEM Innovation Projects Competition were announced. Applications from Chui, Naryn, Osh, Issyk-Kul, Jalal-Abad, Talas oblasts and Central Europe were received at the contest. The jury, who are domestic and foreign experts in various fields, evaluated the projects according to the following criteria: project innovativeness; competitive advantages of the proposed ideas; relevance for the Kyrgyz Republic and a vision of achieving the stated parameters. According to the decision of the jury, the top 10 innovative projects will receive grant funding of $ 1,000. The following grant proposals were chosen as finalists: 1. Organization classes on robotics for schoolchildren in Naryn (Beyshenalieva Uulkan Usbekovna, Naryn oblast). 2. The possibility of second life and recycling of one of the most common types of garbage - plastic bottles (Samidinova Dilbar Polotovna, Osh region). 3. Processing of agricultural plant and animal waste by the microbiological method (Zhumabaeva Taasilkan Toktomamatovna, Osh region). 4. Smart greenhouse (Zholdubaeva Elnura Zholdubaevna, Chui oblast). 5. Digital transmitter of ECG signal (Abdimanap kyzy Meerimkul, Chui region). 6. Mobile application I way (invisible way) (Taiirova Nakylay, Chui region). 7. Protection of the environment through the separation of waste, its collection and further processing (Zhumamүdүnova Nurzat Shailoobekovna, Chui oblast). 8. Ecological bases of soil fertility improvement and their rational use in the State Natural Park Kara-Buura (Tutkuchbaeva Kanykey Abdyzhaparovna, Talas region). 9. ASKUE - a transparent solution for power quality metering (Kokumbaeva Kulumkan Asanovna, Jalal-Abad oblast). 10. Empowerment and enhancement of the role of women in STEM (Ibraeva Nurgul Ashimbekovna, Issyk - Kul region). The contest was held with an aim to recognize unique ideas among young female specialists with high innovative potential, who are female technical university and high school (and gymnasiums) students.
