«No plastic bags» ecological flash mob held in Bishkek

According to the organizers, it takes 1000 years for plastic bags to be completely decomposed in the ground by causing great damage to nature and producing harmful substances. “We organized this campaign to reach out our citizens’ consciousness so that they use less plastic bags. Today we will distribute eco-bags made from environmentally friendly material. Eco-bags are extremely popular and massively produced nowadays. We will try to encourage citizens to use environmentally friendly products. We also hope that our Parliament passes a law limiting the use of plastic bags in Kyrgyzstan", - Maria Kolesnikova, project PR-manager said. According to the organizers, they collaborate with the Bishkek city mayor’s office and different environmental associations to organize environmental lessons for Bishkek high schools students. Films on ecology and conservation will be displayed during classes.
