The ONS conference "Accountability of the State to Society and Citizen Participation in Good Governance" began on January 23rd, 2014.   The conference is dedicated to presenting the results of three years of cooperation between public supervisory boards and government ministries of the Kyrgyz Republic. Its goal is to strengthen dialogue on governance, promote governance as a field, and increase government accountability to the public. Also, participants will try to establish an updated plan for the further development of the ONS taking into account international experiences.   International experts from Europe and Asia attended the conference and shared their experiences of successful cooperation between public councils and government agencies as well as citizens' participation in local governance.   "The Roza Otunbayeva Initiative" International Public Foundation organized the event with the generous support of the Swiss Embassy in Kyrgyzstan, USAID, UNDP Democratic Governance, and OSCE.
