The Committee on Prevention of Domestic Violence of the Ken-Bulun local government has prepared an annual work plan.
March 12, 2024, 21:48On March 12, the third workshop for the local committee on prevention of domestic violence in Ken-Bulun (Ivanovka) local government was held.
During the workshop, the participants developed an annual work plan for the
committee, outlining activities and actions to prevent domestic violence. Each
committee member will implement these activities within the authority of their
organization.
For instance, a representative from the vocational school emphasized the
significance of informing families and individuals at risk about opportunities
to pursue a new or additional profession, such as makeup artistry,
confectionery, and sewing. These options can enhance the financial stability of
women and their families.
In the second part of the seminar, the trainer discussed with the
participants "Rights of victims of domestic violence. Features of
interaction with victims of gender and domestic violence" and
"Response to domestic violence and assistance to victims of domestic
violence. Format of emergency and regular meetings of the local
committee".
Additionally, participants engaged in situational exercises to learn how to
communicate and behave appropriately with victims of violence. The trainer
provided detailed feedback on mistakes made by participants in their speech and
behavior during these situations.
A meeting was held with Bek Jekshembayev, the head of the local government
appointed after the administrative-territorial reform, to discuss the goals,
objectives, and progress of the project. Jekshembayev assured his support for
the project and shared plans for social work and increasing employment
opportunities for unemployed citizens, including women in need of support.
Furthermore, it was announced that the Ivanovka local government will be
rebranded as the Ken-Bulun local government post-reform.
The last workshop in Ivanovka is scheduled for March 19th.
Workshops for new Committee on Prevention of Domestic Violence are held
with the financial support of the U.S. Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic within
the framework of the project “Increasing Gender Sensitivity of CPDV members in
