Batken and Leilek districts are set to host training sessions focused on guesthouse opening, maintenance, and tourism development. These trainings will offer comprehensive support to individuals planning to establish and manage guesthouses in the region.

These events are part of the project titled "Active Women's Civil Society Organizations of Kyrgyzstan for Peace." One of the key objectives of this project is to enhance the participation of active women in adapting to climate change. The project aims to support climate-smart initiatives in various sectors such as agriculture, tourism, education, and sustainable development.

While guesthouses have been successfully operating in several regions of Kyrgyzstan, the population of Batken region requires additional knowledge and experience in this field. Tourism development tailored to the local community's capacities will contribute to the region's preparation for a green economy and climate change. Ongoing activities include training sessions and meetings with relevant authorities, including the Tourism Department of the Ministry of Economy and Trade of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Tourism Development Fund of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Association of Public Tourism, the Unison Group, and government agencies in the Batken region.

The project "Active Women's Civil Society Organizations of Kyrgyzstan for Peace" is made possible through the financial support of UN Women, the International Public Foundation "Roza Otunbaeva Initiative," and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.
