Workshop for local organizations within the project "Active Women in the Civil Society of Kyrgyzstan for Peace" started in Osh city

On May 24, 2023 in Osh took place a workshop for local organizations within the project "Active Women in the Civil Society of Kyrgyzstan for Peace".

The event was attended by the Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Batken region Janybek Isakov, heads of public organizations, representatives of local self-government bodies, local activists, representatives of the United Nations Women's Organization, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and the International Public Foundation "Roza Otunbaeva Initiative".

The purpose of the workshop was to raise awareness of the participants about the project and the partnership on gender, climate and peace issues, as well as to discuss and develop common methods with stakeholders and beneficiaries in the implementation of the project.

For reference: The project "Active Women in Civil Society in Kyrgyzstan for Peace" is implemented with the support of UN Women in Kyrgyzstan, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and the International Public Foundation "Roza Otunbaeva Initiative", with the support of the United Nations, the UN Peacebuilding Fund for 2023-2024.

The goal of the project is to increase the institutional capacity of women's civil society organizations in addressing climate security issues in Kyrgyzstan and to create an enabling environment for their participation in decision-making at the strategic level, as well as to create mechanisms and models for cooperation between entrepreneurial women and local self-government bodies.
