Year 2012: Discover Asia Initiative

One of the Foundation's initiatives, launched in 2012, is the creation of communication spaces for discussion, opinion-forming and consolidation of all progressive forces for the development of Kyrgyzstan.

"Discover Asia" is an initiative to increase knowledge about business opportunities, culture and traditions, as well as the economic success of Asian countries through meetings and events organised for target audiences in Kyrgyzstan. These regular monthly events were organised together with foreign embassies, business people, experts and policy makers of the countries that were the focus of a particular event.

During 2012, six high-level events were held as part of the Discover Asia initiative:

·Micro-finance Sector Development in Bangladesh;
·Presentation of Economic Fairs in China;
·On educational innovation in India;
·Success Factors of the Japanese Economy and Opportunities for Kyrgyzstan;
·Presentation on "Globalisation: The Way Forward" by Mahathir Bin Mohamad, former Prime Minister of Malaysia;
·Presentation on introducing green growth principles into South Korea's economic development.
