R. I. Otunbayeva attends presentation concerning Kyrgyz-Norwegian youth tourist camp

 A presentation on the Kyrgyz-Norwegian youth tourist camp was given in the conferece hall at the Park Hotel Bishkek September 15th, 2015. Kyrgyzstan’s ex-president Roza Otunbayeva and chair of “Kyrgyzstan’s Hiking Tourism Union” Anvar Yusupov supported the work guests and youth tourist camp attenders with welcome speeches.

 

FYI: The “Kyrgyzstan’s Hiking Tourism Union” public association has been working together with the Norwegian “Den Norske Turistforening (DNT)” tourist assocation since 2005. The Assocation worked closely with the Union for five years to implement the project “Developing ecological tourism in mountain regions,” with leadership and assistance from the Norwegian Foreign Ministry.

 

The Union works to build a solid base among Kyrgyz citizens to be active in tourism work. One of the group’s tasks was leading the youth tourist camp. This year’s camp was held in the Kyrgyz Republic with 12 students from Kyrgyzstan attending as well as 12 Norwegian students who are members of the DNT Association.

 

The goals of the camp were to advance opportunities for youth, share ideas for solving issues in ecological tourism, and introducing participants of each country to their respective coultures.
