Video: «Preschools at Jailoo»

Last summer, the "Roza Otunbayeva Initiative" began a project to build preschools in the summer pastures (jailoos) in the highlands of almost all of the seven regions of Kyrgyzstan.
According to official data, about 15% of children in Kyrgyzstan do not attend preschool. In rural areas, it is even worse. 11% of rural children attend preschool, compared to 33% in cities.
Cities also benefit from numerous children's development and creativity centers, excellent alternatives to preschools. No similar facilities exist in rural areas. To fill this gap, the foundation has successfully implemented the "Jailoo Preschools" project in Kyrgyzstan’s remote mountain regions.
