April 3, 2013, 06:00

The regularly scheduled classical music concert for low-income school children will be held tomorrow, April 4th. The children are from schools in the Orok, Ala-Too 1, Tynchtyk, Keremet-talaa, Kara-Jygach, Uchkun, Kyrman, Kalys Ordo neighborhoods as well as students from the Arabaev Musical Boarding School and the Rehabilitation Center “Umut-Nadezhda”.

Overall 300 children will be participating in this event. R. Otunbayeva will be in attendance as well.

This is the sixth consecutive concert organized by the “Roza Otunbayeva Initiative” Foundation in cooperation with the Kyrgyz National Conservatory, the Bishkek Municipal Government as well as the nongovernmental organizations Eraim and Ashar.

The theme of the concert is “Smiling and Feeling Sad Together with Music” (basic aesthetic categories in music). The works included in the program will demonstrate to children the entire range of human emotions expressed in music. The works of Russian, Kyrgyz and European composers will be heard in the program.

The concerts are conducted through using interactive educational methods, which allow the children to actively participate in the concert, talk to musicians and performers, and, correspondingly, remember the material covered.

The event will take place at the Kyrgyz National Conservatory on ul. Jantosheva 115.

The event begins at 15:00.
