As long as we remember our past, we have a future! Happy Victory Day!
May 8, 2024, 09:49Today marks the
79th anniversary of the end of the Great Patriotic War, the most terrible and
bloody war in human history. From 1941 to 1945, Kyrgyzstan literally became the
forge of victory, providing the war front with what it needed. More than 30
industrial enterprises were evacuated to the republic, where they began to
produce the necessary products for the front in the shortest possible time.
Agricultural work
continued apace in the fields and collective farms. A total of 303.6 thousand
tons of bread and 22.3 thousand tons of potatoes were harvested. Around 74
thousand tons of grain and more than 8 thousand tons of meat were contributed
to the defense foundation. Additionally, the army received more than 54
thousand selected horses from collective and state farms.
Kyrgyzstan became
a new home for hundreds of thousands of evacuees, including many orphanages. On
the battlefields of the Great Patriotic War, 363.2 thousand Kyrgyz citizens
fought, with more than 130 thousand of them laying down their lives.
More than 150
thousand Kyrgyz soldiers were awarded orders and medals for their courage and
bravery, with 74 receiving the title of Hero of the Soviet Union, and 21 being
awarded the Order of Glory of three degrees.
Time passes, but
we have no right to forget the price our ancestors paid for the Great Victory.
This day serves as a strong, unbreakable thread between us, the present
generation, and the generation of frontline soldiers, workers, and victors.
We honor the
selflessness and titanic efforts of the home-front workers and children of war
who, together with the adults, contributed to the approaching Great Victory.
We are proud of
the courage and steadfastness of the victorious people and cherish the memory
of the fallen.
We salute
veterans for the opportunity to live and raise children under a peaceful sky,
to breathe freedom, and to rejoice in each new day. We bow to you, veterans,
for the peaceful skies above our heads! May every spring be peaceful! And let
our children learn about war only from the pages of history.
Happy May 9th!
Happy Victory Day!
