April 7, 2022, 05:32

The Roza Otunbayeva Initiative Foundation, together with the Minderoo Foundation, Australia, has launched the Thrive by Five project.

The project will develop a mobile application for parents where they can find useful information about important aspects for successful child development: communication or interaction of a child with family members, speechplay, safe home, and how to create a safe and supportive environment for the baby in the home and community. It is important to remember that only parents and family members can provide the child with these necessary conditions for the safe and successful development of the baby. Therefore, any format to increase parental literacy about child development is very important.

The app will be available for download and use as early as August of this year.

It is encouraging to note that Kyrgyzstan and the Roza Otunbayeva Initiative Foundation have been selected among 30 countries where the project to develop and launch the mobile application, "Thrive by Five", will be implemented. This project is the result of long and diligent work of the Foundation staff and experts.

The Foundation has ongoing work in the field of early childhood development in the format of a page, "Late after Three," in the social networks with 46,000 subscribers; the book "It's too Late after Three," radio program for parents"Genius", a lecture series "School of Childhood.

For information: UNICEF in Kyrgyzstan shows: “There are 2.1 million children in the country who make up 36.5% of the population; however, their parents do not know how to play with their children. They often lack the knowledge and skills to communicate with their children to accelerate a child's intellectual, cognitive, social, emotional and physical development."
