Forum on the promotion and implementation of basic standards of the development of children from birth to age three will be held in Naryn
June 16, 2017, 06:00The Forum on the promotion and implementation of basic standards of the development of children from birth to age three will take place on June 20, 2017, in the city of Naryn on the basis of Naryn State University.
The event will be attended by the former President of the Kyrgyz Republic, the founder of the "Roza Otunbayeva Initiative" International Public Foundation Roza Otunbayeva, the head of the United Nations Children's Fund in the Kyrgyz Republic (UNICEF) Yukie Mokuo, the Representative Plenipotentiary of the Government of the KR in Naryn oblast A. Kayypov, the pediatric endocrinologist of the National Center for Motherhood and Childhood Protection F. Isakova, rector of Naryn State University D. Omuralieva, as well as developers, experts of the standards, teachers and methodologists of school methodological associations for primary schools, directors of pre-school educational institutions, and students of the faculty of pedagogy of Naryn State University.
"Creating quality services is one of the important ways to overcome poverty in any country," - said Roza Otunbayeva.
In 2016, experts with UNICEF support developed basic standards of the development of children from birth to three years.
The purpose of the Forum is to promote and implement these standarts through creation of a joint network among pedagogical universities of the Kyrgyz Republic.
"The forum is devoted to such an urgent issue as the early development of children of modern Kyrgyzstan. After all, investments in young children are an important strategy for the development of each country and poverty reduction. For every dollar invested in a child, you can get $7 back when he/she grows up", - says Yukie Mokuo.
Based on the results of the Forum, it is planned to create a joint network of the pedagogical universities across the country to implement the Standards for Early Childhood Development.
