«Come and Buy, Help Our Children Fly» Charitable Fair

The “Come and Buy, Help our Children Fly” charitable fair will be held as part of the IV Festival of Education. Shoppers can contribute to a good cause by buying exclusive and hand-made products from graduates of finishing schools, boarding schools, orphanages, and rehabilitation centers.

The T.Moldo #71 Boarding School (SGBS) for Orphaned and Abandoned Children:


At the current time about 600 students and 160 orphaned and abandoned children study at the school. The T. Moldo #71 Boarding School is special, in that along with receiving their secondary general education diploma, graduates also receive a secondary vocational diploma (in translation, carpentering, hairdressing, or sewing) along with a level B or C driver’s license. 

The T. Moldo #71 Boarding School offers support and assistance to any graduates hoping to find a job or receive a college education. 



Special (Auxillary) School #22.


S(A)S#22 was founded in 1928. At the current time around 158 children train at the school. Students range from 6 to 18 years of age. All of the usual high school subjects are taught at S(A)S #22, with the exception of chemistry, physics, and English language. Starting in the first grade, all students also study in a vocational class. Upon entry into the fourth grade, students will study professional vocation (sewing, carpentry, plumbing, and packaging). Pupils are: able to create products from shells, felt, stone, wood, tile, metal, clay, and dough, able to participate in national soccer competitions, and, have placed in the Paralympic Games.



Special (Auxiliary ) School #34


In 2014, the first program in Kyrgyzstan for children with severe and moderate autism, as well as severe speech development issues, was created at the Special (Auxiliary) School #34, and will help students starting in the first grade until graduation. This project, named “The Creation of a Pilot ABA Program for Children with Autism at the Special (Auxiliary) School #34, Bishkek” is implemented by the “Hand in Hand” Public Association of Parents of Autistic Children.


Currently around 175 students are trained at S(A)S #34. The students’ ages range from seven to eighteen. The academic curriculum and professional development courses are the same as those offered at other special (auxiliary) schools.


While at the Fair, you can purchase convenient and practical hand-bags hand-made by the students of S(A)S #34.



Children’s Rehabilitation Center “Umut-Nadezhda.”


The Center was founded in 1989. The non-governmental organization is composed of a network of self-help groups, who are able to function thanks to generous donations from kind people.


As of today, the “Umut-Nadezhda” Center network consists of: 

• Children’s Rehabilitation Center “Umut-Nadezhda”

• Preschool group (children attend from ages 3 to 7)

• 4 elementary school groups (children attend from ages 7 to 15)

• Handicrafts group (children attend from ages 15 to 18)

• Yanusha Korchaka Center (therapeutic crafts) teenagers and adults 18 and up

• 2 24/7 groups (“Slava” – children up till 14 years of age, “Andrey” – children 15 years and up)

• Independent network of inclusive preschool programs, where healthy students study alongside 1-2 students with special needs.


Group classes are held for hippotherapy, motor-sensory therapy, speech therapy, massage therapy, art therapy, basal stimulation, and others. All instructors regularly attend teaching seminars at the “Umut-Hadezhda” Center.


At the Fair you can purchase toys, bracelets, hats, pots, bags, cases, and other hand-made products created by the pupils of CRC “Umut-Nadezhda.”




“Military – Anton” Orphanage.


The Orphanage was created in 1946, and can house 105 children. The first pupils of the Orphanage were orphans, deprived of their parents by WWII. At the current time the orphanage houses around 100 children aged 7 to 17.


The main goal of the orphanage is the social rehabilitation and adaptation for its orphans and abandoned children.


Graduates of the Orphanage study at the International Academy of Management, Law, Finances, and Business, the American University of Central Asia, the International University of Kyrgyzstan, and at various other institutions.
