April 11, 2016, 06:00

The Roza Otunbayeva Initiative is working this year on improving the quality of education in the 87 Jailoo Kindergartens launched in 2014 and 2015.

The backbone of quality childhood development and education is professional, committed well-trained educators, innovators and fellow-workers.

If you are a teacher, social worker, psychologist or parent from Kyrgyzstan or abroad, or wish to volunteer in some other capacity, we invite you to work with us.

By taking part in this project you will positively impact the development of children, parents and communities in the mountain regions of Kyrgyzstan. The Jailoo Kindergartens will be held from June to the end of August. You may participate for as little as one week or for up to two months. Work in the Kindergartens may include teaching academic lessons, leading workshops, or leading other activities for children on a flexible, convenient schedule.

Taking part in this project will give you the wonderful opportunity to:

● Work with children of various ages;

● Work with and train parents and communities;

● Conduct scientific research;

● Work closely and regularly with members of local government agencies;

● Experience the traditional way of life on a Jailoo;

● Enjoy local cuisine prepared with all-natural, organic ingredients, and try kumis (fermented mare’s milk!);

● Benefit from spending time in the open air, surrounded by nature.
