Open book

From January 2014, the “Roza Otunbayeva Initiative” Public Foundation, with the support of the “Soros Foundation Kyrgyzstan” implements the “Open Book” project. The project aims to help create and develop the strategies and policies for Open Educational Resources in Kyrgyzstan based on existing state educational policies. The project holds information campaigns to promote open educational resources in Kyrgyzstan. When there are substantial and constant shortage of textbooks and teaching materials, the alternative electronic online resources is considered as one of the options for solving this issue. Information campaigns helped to promote open educational resources in Kyrgyzstan. Also informational guides were published, and teachers had trainings to spread ICT knowledge in schools.
