Towards the 8th Festival of Education 2020 on «Digital Literacy»
January 29, 2020, 06:00One of the most ambitious educational events that has become an integral part of the life of the city - the Annual Festival of Education is traditionally will be held in Bishkek.
In 2020, as part of the Year of Regional Development, Digitalization of the Country and Child Support, the Festival of Education will continue the theme of ICT. The 8th “Digital Literacy” Festival of Education will be held on April 18 (Saturday) 2020 at several city venues of the T. Satylganov National Philharmonic. Guests also can visit the International University of Kyrgyzstan (IUK) - a co-organizer of the event this year.
In order to achieve long-term results, the format of the Festival this year has been changed. Instead of visiting one of the universities on the first day of the festival, a series of pre-festival events will be organized from January to April in cooperation with the Bishkek Education Department and partners of the Festival of Education.
The first pre-festival event will take place on January 29 in the Educational Complex No. 38 in Bishkek, where will be the “Guest Meeting with Generation Z” together with high school students. The event will be attended by R. Otunbayeva, ex-President of the Kyrgyz Republic and founder of the “Roza Otunbayeva Initiative” IPF and A. Abakirov, chairman of the Kyrgyz Association of Software and Service Developers and founder of the IT Academy.

For reference: The Festival of Education is an annual festival for children, youth, parents and citizens started from 2013 in Bishkek. The organizers of the annual Festival are the "Roza Otunbayeva Initiative" IPF, the Bishkek City Administration and the universities in Bishkek.
The Festival of Education is the best educational event in Central Asia following the results of the Central Asian "Event Awards Central Asia" in 2016. In addition, it was awarded the 3rd place at the Global Event Awards (December 4, Moscow) as the "Best Children's Event" among 84 events from various countries.
The Education Festival was initiated in 2013 and has become thematic from 2014. The first day of the festival was held in one of the capital's universities and the second day events were organized in the center of Bishkek.
In 2019, the 7th Festival of Education on “Digital Generation of Kyrgyzstan” was organized at the American University of Central Asia (AUCA) on April 13 and at 16 different venues in the central part of the city with the main stage near Monument of Kurmanzhan Datka on May 4. More than 27,000 people attended the numerous events of the Festival over two days.
