The Silk Road second International cultural forum opened September 14th at the “President Hotel.” Sixteen countries were represented with Kyrgyzstan joining the more than 300 participants.

As a reminder last year's notable participants at the first forum in Astana (Kazakhstan) included the Russian Federation President's International Cooperative representative Mihail Shvidkoi and Silk Road Chinese Fund director Chan Sinlan. Today many different countries were represented by both political and public specialists, heads of cultural institutions, ministers, city mayors, administrative representatives, diplomats and others.

Kyrgyzstan sent a 13 person assembly as their delegation. Included were The «Initiative of Roza Otunbayeva» International Public Foundation managing director, Culture, Information and Tourism assistant minister Tynchtykbek Abdyldaev, Kyrgyz Republic Cultural Ministry's World Epic world-wide festival head coordinator Damira Alyshbaeva, the Cultural Ministry's department for national politics and strategic planning department head Gulzat Mukalieva, National History Museum director of science vice director, Bayalinov Republic children and youth library vice-director Larisa Kislova and others. The forum’s main theme was “Developing partnerships through cultural cooperation and establishing projects.” On the first day, international non-governmental cultural cooperation organization “Eurasia – Silk Road” agreed to create a framework. Organizers of the forum were the A. Rogchakov People’s Diplomatic Leadership Russian Fund, The People’s Culture and Art Chinese Fund, Silk Road Chinese Fund, “Sinao” Chinese Corporation and Kazakhstan Spiritual Development Fund.

In the organizers’ opinion, the reward for workers in new organizations doing different kinds of work in the area of humanitarian cooperation between Eurasian countries should be providing assistance to each other and the resulting international cooperation.

After signing documents, all participants had their photo taken together. After the Kyrgyz delegation got a photo with one of the members Mihail Shvydkoi as a momento.

Today, September 15th, section work of the forum continued.
