Goals – Famous cultural icons, artists, sports figures and politicians read books for and with children in order to realize and strengthen the potential of families, parents and village libraries and recover cultural heritage.

The kindergarten will be reabilitated under the project by DFID titled “Improving appropriate local institutions’s infrastructure and increasing their potential for effective water and pasture resource management.”

In this event VIPs read books to cildren to instill in them a love of books and reading. Through readings in public places and children institutions, this project seeks to preserve families’ cultural richness and traditions.

September 15th – Round table discussion with LPR, libraries, writers and other participants on the issue of making progress in reading amoung young children


Place: Issyk-Kul Oblast (TBD)

A platform to discuss the progress of reading and pre-school education with decision makers. Ways to move forward with reading are offered by partner organizations.

September 26th – A cultural concert-presentation of Tatar and Bashkyr music through the project “Music – The People’s Soul”


Time: 14:00

Place: Conservatory (Jantoshev St. 115. Near where it crosses Soviet St.)

Free admission. 

Tatar and Bashkyr music is uniquely distinct from the music of other Central Asian peoples. What is the difference? Find out by watching Tatar and Bashkyr people play traditional instruments and share their musical culture.

“Directory” Training for current private kindergarten directors, center directors and those who wish to open their own kindergarten in the future


Each participant can choose their course from four themes. Trainer – Maria Mirkes, Krasnoyarsk, Russia. Maria is the head of an anthropology school and has given trainings all across Russia to department heads. Her trainings have allowed others to open high quality kindergartens in many different regions of Russia.

Current training “Customers” theme. Private kindergartens work with funds from their own customers. This training shows the way to strengthen your customer service skills and provide quality education.

In a competitive market, how does a private kindergarten director gain and retain customers? How does one create good relationships with customers? How must directors show the quality of their work and the value of their service or their continued efforts to provide the best quality?

Maria Mirkes will provide the way to solve these issues and more. This two-day training was created to provide the essential needs for leaders. See additional information for date and place of training.

Those who wish also have the opportunity to receive a consultation from a trainer at their private kindergarten.

“Eco-Selfie” competition extended until September 30th


Selfie (taking a photo of yourself) – Take a photo of your good deed and the results and win a smartphone! (Examples could include school cleaning, planting seedlings, decorative landscaping cleaning the yard as well as many other things.)

The competition is organized through the Eco-Project “Think Globally – Act Locally: Improving the ecological responsibility among children and youth.”

Competition winners will receive prizes.

The competition is open to all who wish to participate.
