Exciting eco-activities for children of Bishkek school camps
June 27, 2017, 06:00With the advent of summer, the Caravan of Knowledge on ecology, which has visited more than 1600 children in 14 Bishkek schools during 2016-2017 school year, moved to summer school camps. The Caravan was held for a week from June 12 to June 16 in school camps #94, 42, 27, 32 and 88 and introduced children with eco-lessons and presentations on the environment, including the discussion of the "Rules of Bishkek Young Citizen", the cartoon "Man and Garbage" and social videos on careful attitude to the environment created within the eco-project "Think globally, Act locally: increasing environmental responsibility among children and youth," eco-games and eco-quiz. The most active participants of Caravan took prizes - entertaining books on ecology. 510 children of Bishkek school camps have participated at the Caravan of Ecological Knowledge. The second stage of the Knowledge Caravan on Ecology took place from June 19 to June 23 at the Water Museum as part of the "Meetings in the Museum" eco-action. It should be noted that the Water Museum is the only museum in Central Asia of its kind. "Meetings at the Water Museum" is an exciting ecological event accompanied by excursions in the Museum located at the Kyrgyz National Agrarian University named after K.I. Scriabin (KNAU), as well as interactive presentations on water, ecology, biodiversity and careful and responsible attitude to the environment, showing social clips and cartoons on environmental topics, discussions of the "Rules of Bishkek Young Citizen" and quizzes with prizes. The participants of the "Meetings in the Museum" were teachers, educators and more than 200 children from the Bishkek school camps #85; 94 and 89. The above mentioned events aroused great interest and got a positive response among schoolchildren and educators. "Caravan of knowledge on ecology for school camps" and "Meetings at the Water Museum" were organized in the framework of the eco-project "Think Globally, Act Locally: Increasing Environmental Responsibility among Children and Youth". The organizers of the action are the "Roza Otunbayeva Initiative" International Public Foundation and the Education Department of Bishkek City Hall.
