Information meeting for school principals with the participation of the Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic

On February 9, 2024, an information meeting organized by the Roza Otunbaeva Initiative Foundation within the framework of the UNICEF project Girls in Science was held for principals of pilot schools of the project.

 

The meeting was held in an online format on the Zoom platform and was timed to coincide with the International Day of Girls and Women in Science.

 

The speaker of the event, Lira Samykbaeva, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, shared important details of the ongoing and planned work in the field of digitalization of education in Kyrgyzstan.

 

Lira Samykbaeva emphasized that digitalization helps to reduce bureaucracy and facilitates the exchange of information between educational institutions. She also recommended school directors to include mandatory training of teachers in digital skills in school development plans.

 

As a reminder, the Roza Otunbaeva Initiative has been working to improve work planning in educational institutions as part of the Girls in Science project. We are actively introducing social, gender-sensitive pedagogy and STEM component in pilot general education, extracurricular and preschool organizations.
