R.Otunbayeva on Rumors: After Babanov left his post, I did not see him

“Now I do not interfere in politics,” said Ex-president Roza Otunbayeva in response to the question of rumors in the newspaper of Roza Otunbayeva becoming speaker and the former Prime Minister Omurbek Babanov – president.

According to Otunbayeva, she is now busy with the issues of kindergartens, schools, technical lyceums and maternal health in Osh and Bishkek, and the newspapers are simply creating various rumors out of whole cloth. “After Babanov let his post, I did not see him,” she stated.

“The time for revolution has passed, and the time for development and building has arrived. Maybe it is necessary for us to help the president and to help solve the real problems of society?” the ex-president said.

Otunbayeva noted that now she is not involved in politics. “Standing before us are the issues of developing the state. I am carrying out the mission of an ex-president; I founded a public foundation; I am working in the field of education and meet with young people and women. Therefore if there are forces and efforts aimed against stability and the current course, then we are ready to speak out against them,” she said.
