According to Asilbek Djoodonbekov, the International Public Foundation “Roza Otunbayeva Initiative” will continue to develop the “Pasture Developmental Centers - 2016” project with the support of local municipal government. This project has been in the works since 2014, and since then the Foundation has helped with holistic development and support for over 300 children of shepherds living in the mountains.

35 Mountain Pasture Developmental Centers were opened in 2014, 87 in 2015, and it is expected that 110 new centers will be opened by the end of 2016.

“This project has been made possible by the support of representatives of the local community and creative associations of shepherd committees. 2016 will witness the christening of these pasture kindergartens as developmental centers, where the focus will be on different workshops for children living in the mountains. There will be chess-classes, model-plane building, ecology classes, folk handicrafts, drawing, and classes for enriching children’s vocabulary. Additionally, there will be a range of different interactive games,” reported A. Djoodonbekov.
