The «Initiative of Roza Otunbayeva» International Public Foundation helps with repair work on three kindergartens in Batken Oblast

The “Initiative of Roza Otunbayeva” International Public Foundation with the support of the British Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic helped in repairing three kindergartens in Batken Oblast through the current Aga Khan Foundation project “Raising potential and improving appropriate local institutions’ infrastructure for the effective management of water and pasture resources.”

 

Renovations were completed first in in Chong-Kara Village in Batken Rayon at the “Altyn Balalyk” Kindergarten. The kindergarten was secured with a 500 liter cistern and water pump, three sinks with hot and cold taps for the children to wash their hands, and one sink for the cafeteria. A metal plastic veranda was constructed and insulated, which is where the sinks were placed.

 

In Markaz Village, Kadamjai Rayon, children’s chairs (60) and tables (16), book shelves (4), writing desks (2), teachers chairs (4), a wardrobe (1), a cafeteria shelf (1), cafeteria tables (2) and chairs (8) were purchased for the “Kelechek” Kindergarten which had insufficient furniture.

 

Renovations were also finished at the “Ai-Kol” Kindergarten in Ai-Kol Village, Leilek Rayon. There, water pipes were installed in the building, and a pump was secured, providing easy-maintenance water pressure. A free room in the school was installed with a shower and toilet for the children. A boiler was secured so that the building will have cold and hot water.

 

Beyond the work of doing repairs, The “Initiative of Roza Otunbayeva” International Public Foundation was able to gather child development toys for the kindergartens as well as office supplies.

 

In December, The “Initiative of Roza Otunbayeva” International Public Foundation is planning on creating eco-corners at each of these kindergartens, with will be very useful for the children.
