Participating in the «Initiative of Roza Otunbayeva» Foundation's «August Lessons» conference

The conference «August Lessons» for Bishkek educators was held at the A. Osmonov National Library this past Thursday, August 20th.

 

The theme of the conference was “Education in Kyrgyzstan: quality, competence, equipping for challenge.”

 

Bishkek school teachers, pre-school teachers, directors of education, and representatives from youth centers, art centers, community organizations and JOJs all attended the conference. They were greeted by the Kyrgyz Republic Ministry of Education and Science, Bishkek Vice-Mayor and education officials from the Bishkek Mayor’s office.

 

At the conference, the “Initiative of Roza Otunbayeva” International Public Foundation managing director D. S. Kendirbayeva gave a report on the theme “Partnering for Educational Development.” She spoke about the successes of the Foundation’s projects and possible ways the Foundation and Bishkek City education officials could work together in the future.

 

An education showcase was organized at the conference and children from the 4-rayon youth center attended a master-class. Representatives of public foundations, organizations and partners from the “Think Globally – Act Locally” ecological project also offered educational resources.

 

The Initiative of Roza Otunbayeva Foundation also offered their own maerials at the showcase. They also offered substantial materials for young city students just beginning school this year including posters titled “Young Bishkekians Rules” about taking care of the world around us, and “Eco-Calendars” featuring the international ecological dates and holidays. These posters were prepared for the “Initiative of Roza Otunbayeva” Foundation’s “Think Globally – Act Locally: Increasing ecological responsibility among children and youth” and were distributed free of charge to all conference attenders.

 

Educational Managers from the Mayor’s Office organized the educational conference and showcase.
