Otunbayeva: Kyrgyzstan should remain a secular state

Lecturing in one of the world famous universities Roza Otunbayeva said, "Kyrgyzstan should be a secular state. In Kyrgyz society, women have never worn a burqa. Even in the era of patriarchy in Kyrgyz women had their place."

 

At a lecture organized by the University of London Economics and Political Science, Roza Otunbayeva told about his political career and his experience in the sector, which has traditionally dominated by men. According to her, Kyrgyzstan should strive to build a secular society in which women play an important role.

 

The first female president in Central Asia talking about business relationships with the presidents of neighboring countries indicated that they are easy to work because of their "secular". As for power, "it is not given in the eternal inheritance that leaders must take into account."

Otunbayeva also highlighted the issues of foreign policy of Kyrgyzstan, noting that the country's accession to the Customs Union will present a number of benefits to migrants.

 

She also noted that European countries do not build relationships on values and on the business, in connection with which such a small country as Kyrgyzstan, are in trouble.

 

After the lecture, Roza Otunbayeva answered numerous questions from the students and talked with Kyrgyz and foreign students.
