The “New Year’s Fireworks” Charity Concert will take place on 20 December

On 20 December 2012, in the large concert hall of the Kyrgyz National Conservatory named for K. Moldobasanov, the “New Year’s Fireworks” charity concert will be held for secondary school students in Bishkek. This concert is the continuation of the “Together with Music” cycle organized by the “Roza Otunbayeva Initiative,” Bishkek Municipal Government, the Kyrgyz National Conservatory, the “Arysh” and “Eraim” Foundations, as well as the microcredit company Finca. The concert is scheduled to begin at 15:00. 

The goal of the educational-musical project “Together with Music” is the aesthetic education of a new generation of listeners, acquainting them with classical music traditions both national and international, as well as the discovery and development of talented youths. 

Participating in the concert will be the Bishkek Municipal Large Symphony Orchestra (Artistic Director – People’s Artist of the Kyrgyz Republic M. Begaliev, Lead Conductor – People’s Artist of the Kyrgyz Republic A. Georgiev) and international musical laureate, the Conservatory’s Choir (Director – Y. Ostapenko), as well as students from the Bishkek Choreographic School named for C. Bazarbaev (Artistic Director and Producer – Meritorious Worker of Culture of the KR Aigul Muratalieva), as well as soloists from among the students and instructors of the Conservatory. 

The “New Year’s Fireworks” Concert is the sixth in the educational-musical series. It will be held in the lead up to the New Year and Christmas holidays, and therefore will comprise of compositions from a range of genres, presenting the many musical traditions of the world. 

The secondary school students will learn about national New Year’s and Christmas traditions, as well as listen to compositions from Jumamatov (Kyrgyzstan), Tchaikovsky (Russia), Bizet (France), Grieg (Norway), Offenbach (France), Straus (Austria), and Sorozábal (Spain) among others. The students will be able to hear Christmas carols, fragments from the famous ballets “The Nutcracker” and “The Little Humpbacked Horse”, orchestral compositions for the flute, clarinet and accordion, and vocal compositions. 

In earlier concerts in the series at the Kyrgyz National Conservatory, there were performances from the Bishkek Municipal Large Symphony Orchestra, Bishkek Municipal National Instrument Orchestra, as well as famous musicians such as People’s Artists and Meritorious Artists of the KR, soloists from the Opera and Ballet Theatre, and Kyrgyz National Conservatory alumni. 

The master of ceremonies will be Ms. Alisherova, musicologist and instructor of the Kyrgyz National Conservatory.
