The «Stars Reading to Children» Project Begins on June 1st

June 1st, The “Stars Reading to Children” Project will take place on June 1st, International Children’s Day, in the Gallery of the Oak Park.

 

The Project is dedicated to drawing society’s attention to the necessity of reading out-loud to children; it represents an irreplaceable part of the formation of children’s habits and love for reading.

Additionally, an Eco-Dolls Exhibition, “Чий куурчак,” will be taking place as part of the Project in the Gallery of the Oak Park.

 

In addition, a presentation and book-reading for children has been planned. The book to be presented, Sooronbay Zhusuev’s Тоо жанырткан чагылган, (Thunder in the Mountains), is a collection of children’s poems and fairy-tales about the beauty of the Kyrgyz landscape, her flora and fauna, and childhood, that has been reprinted with the support of the IPF “Roza Otunbayeva Initiative.” The book was first published in 1985. This year marks the first time that the book will be printed in full color, and the collection is dedicated to the writer, now age 90.
