Contest for building walls out of household waste





Contest objectives and responsibilities:


- To bring issues of environmental security to the attention of students and teachers;

- To instill a respect for nature through creating products from household waste;

- To increase interest among school children in ecological education through working to preserve natural resources. 


Requirements for the contest:


- Eco-wall must be in the foyer of the school or education building, and be comprised of artwork made of household waste by students and teachers. 


Contest participants: 


1. Bishkek City Schools

2. Institutions other than Bishkek City Schools 


Contest time and conditions: 


October 15, 2015 – February 20, 2016

Schools and institutions participating in the contest will be visited between February 21 and February 28, 2016.


To enter the competition, schools and institutions must first contact the Bishkek City Mayor’s Education Office: Bishkek, Office #3, before February 20, 2016. M. R. Kalygulova, Tel. 61-00-91, 61-37-10 


Two winners of the contest will be determined from the following:


School and non-school Institution. 


The contest is being held by The “Initiative of Roza Otunbayeva” IPF and the Bishkek City Mayor’s Education Office through the eco-project “Think Globally, Act Locally: Increasing ecological responsibility among children and youth.”
