February 4, 11, 18, 25 – Knowledge Caravan for Bishkek school students: Natural Sciences Mobile Workshop
When: February 4, 11, 18, 25 (Thursdays) at 13:00.

Lecturers: «YRYSTAN» Public Foundation and The «Initiative of Roza Otunbayeva» International Public Foundation
Caravan participants: 7th and 8th grade students
Interactive presentations will be given during the Caravan sessions, insects and plants will be shown through microscopes, and ecological videos will be shown. These are all organized through the «Think Globally, Act Locally» eco-project. The project goal is to increase ecological responsibility among children and youth by turning outside observers into active participants through hosting events, contests, and other activities.

February 5 – Natural-sciences courses (STEM) winter school wrap-up

Where: I. Razzakov KMTU
The natural-sciences winter school is currently being held. Thirty students chosen from new regions surrounding the capital have been chosen to participate. They are being taught mathematics and computer literacy as well as German. In addition to the high-quality courses, master-classes are being held through the Kyrgyz-German Technical Institute. Course instructors include those from the I. Razzakov KMTU.

February 9 – “Family development center issues and solutions” round table to be held though the project “Centers for family development within new developments surrounding Bishkek”

The round table will discuss issues and solutions surrounding the opening of private kindergartens and the following topics:
- Private Kindergarten licensing
- Price for providing electricity to private kindergartens
- Introducing the experiences of other kindergartens
Discussion on other issues pertaining to opening kindergartens.

February—March – «My Green Friend» activities
Where: Bishkek City specialty schools #22, #30, #34
Activity participants – Students of Bishkek City specialty schools
Fifty to fifty-five students of each of the three specialty schools will receive a seeded flowerpot. An expert will teach the students the correct method of planting seeds in the home and in the garden, and how to care for the plants, and help students plant their seeds. In all, 150-165 children will gain their own «Green Friend».
Activity goal – To give students practice growing flowers and create an environment to interest children in ecological work and open the creative and intellectual potential of the specialty schools.

February—April – «Young Bishkek's Eco-Rules» publicity teams city contest
Contest participants – Bishkek City Schools.
The winners of the city contest will show a game at the 4th Education Festival. There are plans to produce CDs of the contestants’ games, and post them on the sites www.roza.kg and festival.roza.kg.
